After Mohali, Four Himachal Pradesh Buses Vandalized in Amritsar; Pro-Khalistan Slogans Found
Amritsar: In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants vandalized four buses belonging to the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) at a bus stand in Amritsar on Saturday. The attackers broke the bulletproof windshields of the buses and wrote pro-Khalistan slogans on them.
According to the police, the buses were parked at the stand and were unoccupied at the time of the incident. The authorities have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits.
This incident comes just days after a similar act of vandalism in Kharar, Mohali, where unidentified individuals damaged the windshield and windows of an HRTC bus.
The attack is believed to be linked to recent tensions between Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Earlier, a group of locals in Himachal Pradesh removed flags featuring terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale from motorcycles belonging to a group of youths from Punjab, leading to a dispute.
In response, activists from Dal Khalsa and ‘Sikh Youth of Punjab’ expressed their anger by pasting Bhindranwale’s pictures on HRTC buses and some private buses in Hoshiarpur.
Police are currently investigating the situation to prevent further escalations.
