Tragic Road Accident in Shahjahanpur: Furniture Trader Dies, Wife Critical on Way to Ganga Snan

A tragic road accident took place on Monday morning in the Mirzapur police station area of Shahjahanpur district. A couple traveling on a motorcycle for Ganga Snan on the occasion of Purnima collided head-on with a tonga (horse-drawn cart), leading to the death of the husband and critical injuries to his wife.

The deceased, Nekpal, a resident of Pratap Nagar in Jalalabad, ran a popular furniture shop named Rajput Steel Works. Originally from Chitrau village, Nekpal was well known in the local business community. His wife, Meera, sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to Shahjahanpur Medical College.

The couple has two sons, Mohit and Dipesh, who are currently studying in Delhi. The news of Nekpal’s death has left the entire community in shock, and grief-stricken relatives are mourning the sudden loss.

Police have taken custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
