Amritsar, June 12, 2025 — The Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted multiple cross-border smuggling attempts along the Punjab border, seizing over 1 kg of heroin and a drone suspected to have come from Pakistan.
Acting on intelligence inputs, BSF personnel recovered 529 grams of heroin near Havelian village in Tarn Taran district. In a separate operation near Roranwala Kalan in Amritsar, a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone believed to be used for smuggling was found.
In a joint operation with Punjab Police near Wan village (Tarn Taran), another 560 grams of heroin was seized. The contraband, packed with coloured tape, illuminating strips, and nylon loops, indicated it had been dropped via drone from Pakistan.
Authorities have launched further investigations into the incidents.
