RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will visit Manipur on November 20 — his first visit to the state since ethnic violence broke out two years ago. The information was shared by a senior functionary of the organisation on Wednesday.
Tarun Kumar Sharma, the Sah-Sarkaryavah of RSS in Manipur, told the media that during his three-day stay, Bhagwat will interact with citizens, entrepreneurs, and representatives from tribal communities. “Our Sarsanghchalak is visiting the state as part of the RSS centenary celebrations. He will arrive here from Guwahati on November 20 and return on November 22,” he said.
Another senior RSS member confirmed that this would be Bhagwat’s first visit to Manipur after the violence. His last visit to the state was in 2022.
As per Sharma, the visit includes several interactive sessions with prominent citizens, tribal community leaders, and young leaders. On the day of his arrival, Bhagwat will participate in a programme at Konjeng Leikai in Imphal, where he will meet entrepreneurs and distinguished personalities.
On November 21, he will meet tribal leaders from the hill districts of Manipur for detailed discussions.
When asked whether the RSS chief would visit relief camps where internally displaced people have been living for nearly two years, Sharma said that such a visit is not currently part of the schedule, adding that this tour is primarily an internal organisational visit.
