Four live cartridges were found on a road inside a Chandigarh residential colony on Monday morning, triggering panic among residents. The discovery came hours after a youth and a girl allegedly created chaos inside the colony late Sunday night.

Entered Colony Forcefully, Created Ruckus

Residents said the duo forcefully entered the colony in their car and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. They allegedly drove dangerously, scaring people on the road. A scooter rider narrowly escaped being hit by their vehicle. When the security guard attempted to stop them, the two misbehaved with him as well.

Claim of Pistol, More People Arrive

Soon after, a few more people entered the colony and claimed that the youth and the girl had hit their vehicle and fled inside. They also alleged the duo was carrying a pistol and cartridges. Hearing this, the colony residents immediately informed the police.

Residents Allege Police Didn’t Check the Vehicle

Residents complained that when the Industrial Area Police reached the spot, they requested the officers to search the car, but the police did not inspect the vehicle. Instead, they took both individuals to the police station for questioning.

Four Cartridges Found Next Morning

On Monday morning, residents spotted four live cartridges lying on the colony road. They believe the cartridges belonged to the same youth who entered the colony the previous night. Police reached the spot and seized the cartridges for investigation.

Police Version

According to the Industrial Area Police Station:

  • They had received a call about a boy and girl forcibly entering a Sector 29 colony and driving dangerously inside.

  • Both were taken to the station for questioning.

  • The girl was released after verification.

  • A case of dangerous driving has been registered against the youth.

  • Police stated that no pistol was recovered during the investigation.
