The district administration of Narnaul has suspended Manoj Kumar, the Sarpanch of Meghot Binja Gram Panchayat, after allegations of irregularities were found to be true. The action was taken by Deputy Commissioner Captain Manoj Kumar under Section 51 of the Haryana Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.

Key Allegations Against the Sarpanch

According to the report submitted on 27 August 2025 by the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO), Nangal Chaudhary, several irregularities were confirmed:

  • The Sarpanch gave a statement in a civil court case filed by encroacher Ramniwas without prior permission from the Gram Panchayat.

  • He made statements against his official responsibilities in matters related to Shamlat land.

  • He failed to provide agenda copies to the block office, showing negligence in official duties.

  • Notices issued to illegal encroachers were released without a proper demarcation report.

  • He did not take timely and required action against illegal encroachments for a long period.

Show-Cause Notice Found Unsatisfactory

A show-cause notice was issued to the Sarpanch on 2 September 2025.
His reply submitted on 5 September was found unsatisfactory.
He was also given opportunities for a personal hearing on 27 August and 30 September 2025, but he failed to present any substantial evidence in his defense.

Majority Panch to Take Charge

Since the allegations were found serious and keeping the Sarpanch in office was deemed against public interest, the DC suspended Manoj Kumar with immediate effect.
He has been directed to hand over the charge of all movable and immovable assets of the Gram Panchayat to the Panch with majority support.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Appointed as Inquiry Officer

To ensure a detailed and fair investigation, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Narnaul, has been appointed as the inquiry officer.
The suspension order has come into force immediately.
