DLIC Approves 296 Applications Under Mission YUVA in Kupwara

The District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) for Mission YUVA, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Suse, on Friday approved 296 applications for the establishment of self-employment generating units across the district.

The initiative aims to empower youth by providing financial assistance, capacity-building support, and mentorship, enabling them to launch and sustain viable business ventures. Officials said this step is expected to significantly boost local entrepreneurship and employment generation.

Detailed Review of Applications

During the meeting, the Committee carried out a comprehensive review of the applications submitted by young aspirants. After extensive scrutiny and discussion, 296 eligible cases were sanctioned for support under Mission YUVA.

DC Stresses Awareness & Outreach

Deputy Commissioner Suse underlined the crucial role of Mission YUVA in harnessing youth potential and building sustainable livelihoods in the district.
He directed departments to:

  • Intensify awareness campaigns

  • Conduct outreach programmes under Udyam Jagruti 4.0

  • Encourage more youth and SHGs to participate

Bank Performance Reviewed

The DC also reviewed the performance of different bank branches regarding the sanctioning and disbursement of approved cases. He instructed them to expedite the process to ensure timely support to beneficiaries.

He further directed departments to organise Mission YUVA Melas every week at the field level for:

  • Awareness

  • Enrolment

  • On-spot loan disbursal

This, he said, will help bring more unemployed youth under the ambit of the programme.
