The Faridkot Police have arrested a woman and her male friend for the alleged murder of her 28-year-old husband, whose body was found on the rooftop of his house on the night of November 28. Police said that preliminary investigation indicates the two were in a relationship and had jointly planned and executed the murder.
Accused in Custody
The wife was arrested on November 29, while her male friend, who initially went absconding, surrendered before a court on Wednesday. He has been remanded to three days of police custody. Both are currently undergoing interrogation.
Police Statement

-
Section 61(2) – Criminal Conspiracy

of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Sadar Faridkot Police Station.
She added that the post-mortem report will establish the exact cause of death.
How the Case Unfolded
Around 11:30 pm on November 28, the wife raised an alarm claiming that robbers had entered the house. She informed neighbours that she later found her husband lying unconscious on the rooftop.
However, inconsistencies emerged during questioning, leading to her arrest the next day.

A paternal cousin, visiting from Canada, reportedly saw someone entering the house around 11 pm that night.
-
The victim’s aunt alleged that the family’s pet dog was found drugged, and claimed the wife first sedated her husband and then strangled him with the help of her friend.
