Mohali | 3 Days Ago

Police in Punjab’s Mohali district have cracked down on an alleged sex racket running under the guise of a spa in Zirakpur’s Dhakoli area. The police sealed the spa centre and registered a case against both the operator and the property owner under relevant legal sections. No accused has been formally named yet, as officials are still verifying records from other departments to identify all responsible individuals.

According to information, three spa centres were being operated in the City Court Shopping Complex, located along the service lane of the Panchkula–Zirakpur Road. Police had received a tip-off that prostitution was being carried out under the pretext of massage services at these centres. Acting on the information, a police team conducted a raid.

During the search, the police found men and women in objectionable conditions inside the spa centre. They were taken into custody for questioning. Police also seized suspicious items from the spot. After questioning, the women and customers were released, while a case was registered against the spa operator and the showroom owner.

Police said the main objective of the action was to curb illegal activities spreading in the area.

ASP Gzalpreet Kaur stated that prostitution activities running behind the facade of massage parlours in Zirakpur would not be tolerated under any circumstances. She added that strict monitoring of such centres is ongoing, and similar actions will continue in the future. Several spa centres are reportedly operating without registration, and investigations are underway to identify and take action against those violating regulations.
