The Crime Branch, Sector-26, Panchkula Police has achieved a major breakthrough by arresting the mastermind of a gang involved in taxi robbery and a murder conspiracy.

Addressing a press conference, ACP (Crime) Arvind Kamboj said that the police team has successfully nabbed the prime accused, who was also carrying a reward of ₹5,000 on his head.

Key details of the case:

• Arrested accused: Hamza, son of Mohammad Javed

• Native place: Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh

• Present address: Kishanpura village, Yamunanagar district

• Age: 21 years

• Date of arrest: December 8, 2025

After his arrest, Hamza was taken on four-day police remand and subjected to intensive interrogation.

Recovery and criminal record:

• During remand, police recovered one country-made pistol and two live cartridges from his possession.

• Hamza is already facing five serious criminal cases, including attempt to murder and violations under the Arms Act, registered in Paonta Sahib.

ACP Kamboj said the arrest has dealt a significant blow to the criminal gang and further investigations are underway to identify and arrest other associates involved in the conspiracy.
