Bathinda: SHO Daljeet Singh Suspended for Negligence in Drug-Related Cases; Sangat Police Station Lies on Punjab–Haryana Border

SHO Daljeet Singh, posted at Sangat Police Station in Bathinda district, has been suspended on charges of negligence and poor performance in cases related to drugs.

The action has been taken due to his alleged failure to take strict and effective steps against drug trafficking in his jurisdiction.

Sangat Police Station is located on the Punjab–Haryana border. This area is often used as a route by drug smugglers entering Bathinda district of Punjab from Haryana or Rajasthan.

Action on SSP’s orders

Bathinda SSP Amneet Kondal ordered the suspension based on a report submitted by the DSP, Bathinda Rural. The report stated that Daljeet Singh did not take the expected strict action against drugs in his area.

A departmental inquiry has also been initiated against him in this matter.
