Chandigarh to Ease Business Regulations: Women Allowed Night Shifts, Land Use Rules to be Simplified

The first meeting of the Chandigarh Compliance Reduction & Deregulation Task Force was held at the Chandigarh Secretariat to discuss measures for simplifying business operations and promoting growth.

Key decisions included allowing women to work night shifts, simplifying land use conversion rules, and streamlining labor and building regulations. Officials emphasized creating a business-friendly environment by easing zoning norms, digitizing regulatory approvals, and promoting a single-window system for industrial licenses, fire NOCs, and environmental clearances.

The meeting was chaired by SCL Das, Secretary, MSME Ministry, and attended by senior officials from the Central and UT administrations.
