Chandigarh, November 23, 2025:
The Haryana Congress disciplinary committee on Saturday warned party leaders to strictly follow organisational protocol or face action. The warning came during the committee’s first major meeting held in Ambala.
Committee chairman Dharampal Malik said that notices will be issued to leaders who violated party decorum during a recent programme in Hisar, where the photo of senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Kumari Selja was allegedly omitted from event hoardings.
Malik said several leaders have been identified and will soon receive show-cause notices. “Firm action shall be taken against leaders who make public statements against the party line, even if they are senior leaders or MLAs,” he said.
Member-Secretary Advocate Rohit Jain said some leaders were “tarnishing the party’s image” by issuing unnecessary statements on media and social media platforms. The committee has received 10–12 complaints so far, including four written ones, he said.
The meeting was attended by a large number of district presidents and senior leaders from rural and urban areas. The committee reiterated that all office-bearers must adhere to organisational guidelines.
The disciplinary panel is holding meetings across Haryana, divided into five zones covering all districts. Further action will be taken after reviewing leaders’ responses to the notices.
