Mainpuri, UP: A history-sheeter, Ashish alias Bitta Yadav, was arrested after a police encounter for firing at village head Pradeep Yadav and two others over a political dispute. The incident occurred during a Holi Milan event, where a BJP leader’s presence sparked tension.

Attack & Protest: The accused, along with 14-15 armed men, opened fire, injuring three people. The attack led to public protests and a police crackdown.

Police Action: A ₹25,000 reward was placed, and the SWAT team tracked Ashish to Bujhia canal bridge, where he was shot in the leg and arrested.

Seized Items: A pistol, cartridges, and a motorcycle were recovered.

Ongoing Investigation: A manhunt is underway for his associates, and his firearm license is being revoked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
