The GST raid at the well-known Agarwal Vaishno Dhaba on Cool Road, Jalandhar, appears to be widening into a full-scale financial investigation. After concluding the search, the GST department officially confirmed the recovery of ₹2.80 crore in cash from the premises.

Officials have also traced details of at least six properties allegedly linked to the dhaba’s owner, Naresh Kumar.

Sources suggest that Kumar is not merely a dhaba operator but is believed to be connected to a significant real estate network across the city. Documents pertaining to several high-value property transactions at prime locations have now come under scrutiny.

With the seizure of crores in unaccounted cash, both the Income Tax Department and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have become vigilant. The agencies are expected to examine the source of the cash, the nature of financial transactions, and the funding patterns of the properties, potentially launching independent inquiries in the coming days.
