A new chapter in cultural communication unfolded at the 10th International Gita Mahotsav as Kurukshetra University launched its first-ever Media Chaupal at the Haryana Pavilion.
Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, accompanied by former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, toured the facility on Saturday and interacted with students and faculty.
Khattar expressed admiration for the initiative, describing Media Chaupal as a vibrant space that captures Haryana’s cultural essence while amplifying the message of the Bhagavad Gita. He said that the pavilion, together with this new media platform, offered visitors an engaging blend of tradition, creativity, and modern communication.
The Union Minister highlighted the efforts of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva and Kurukshetra University’s leadership in envisioning an interactive platform that not only promotes the Gita but also encourages innovation. He noted that the students’ stalls — many centered around entrepreneurship — were a reflection of the university’s drive to inspire self-reliance among youth, aligning with India’s vision for 2047.
Former Minister Subhash Sudha added that Media Chaupal was especially significant because it provided a space where discussions on the Gita could take place in local languages and dialects, bringing the scripture’s teachings closer to the community. Combining traditional communication methods with modern media tools, he said, was an effective approach to reaching a wider audience.
