LG Manoj Sinha e-inaugurates 73 AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres Across J&K

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated 73 new AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres across Jammu and Kashmir under the Ayushman Bharat initiative.
AYUSH stands for Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy.


How many centres opened and where?

A total of 73 centres were inaugurated, distributed across districts as follows:

  • Udhampur – 9

  • Rajouri – 7

  • Reasi – 6

  • Baramulla – 5

  • Budgam – 4

  • Bandipora – 4

  • Doda – 4

  • Ramban – 4

  • Jammu – 3

  • Srinagar – 3

  • Kathua – 3

  • Kupwara – 3

  • Poonch – 3

  • Anantnag – 3

  • Pulwama – 3

  • Kulgam – 2

  • Ganderbal – 2

  • Shopian – 2

  • Samba – 2

  • Kishtwar – 1


What did the LG say?

1. Healthcare in J&K is improving

He said that medical facilities in J&K have undergone major improvements in recent months.

2. AYUSH is being fully integrated into the healthcare system

The government aims to bring AYUSH into mainstream healthcare to offer:

  • Preventive care

  • Curative treatments

  • Rehabilitation support

  • Guidance on healthy living, yoga, and natural practices

3. AYUSH centres will be a game changer

The LG said these centres will:

  • Promote holistic wellness

  • Encourage self-care and home remedies

  • Make primary healthcare more accessible

  • Strengthen traditional systems of medicine


Awareness and Training

The LG emphasized the need to:

  • Create awareness among people

  • Train healthcare staff

  • Highlight the strengths of AYUSH systems


Interaction with staff

During the event, he interacted with staff at various AYUSH centres and asked about:

  • Daily and monthly patient numbers

  • Type of free healthcare services being provided


Launch of “Arogya Siddhi”

The LG also launched “Arogya Siddhi”, a collection of clinical outcomes showing how AYUSH treatments are helping patients across J&K.


Future Plans

  • Out of 571 approved AYUSH centres,

    • 94 have been completed in Phase 1

    • 100 more will be completed in Phase 2
