Srinagar, Nov 29:
Senior police officers on Saturday held an interactive session with students and faculty at Darul Uloom Preng in Ganderbal district as part of “Operation Pathshala,” an outreach programme launched six months ago to connect with Muslim youth through Islamic seminaries.
According to officials, students were briefed about “various harmful influences that can mislead youth,” and were encouraged to make responsible and informed choices in education and personal life.
In its statement, police said Ganderbal SSP highlighted the value of education, discipline and positive community participation in building a peaceful and progressive society. He urged students to stay focused on their goals, stay aware of contemporary challenges, and play constructive roles in nation-building.
Interactive Q&A with students
Police said a “healthy interaction” followed, with students raising questions on topics including education, career opportunities, law enforcement and social issues. Officers addressed the concerns in detail, the statement added.
Officials reiterated that such initiatives are aimed at strengthening police-public relations, fostering trust and ensuring a safe environment for young people.
Similar outreach in Handwara
The programme follows another session conducted a month ago at a Darul Uloom in Handwara district, where police, along with religious scholars and imams, delivered lectures on love for one’s country and deradicalization.
During that seminar, both clerics and officers had warned against extremist ideologies and encouraged youth to embrace moderation, brotherhood and constructive engagement within society.
