Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav has publicly praised the courage and swift action of Gurdaspur SSP Aditya (IPS) and his team, sharing an appreciation post on social media.

According to the Punjab Police, SSP Aditya and his team demonstrated remarkable presence of mind while handling an extremely dangerous situation, successfully preventing a major tragedy. The incident involved an armed attacker carrying an AK-47, who had already killed his wife and mother-in-law, creating panic across the locality.

Amid the tense situation, SSP Aditya personally reached the spot and led the operation from the front to ensure no further loss of life. After assessing the situation from a safe distance, he initiated a dialogue with the armed suspect in an effort to de-escalate the standoff.

His calm decision-making, patience, and exceptional leadership helped bring the situation under control without any additional casualties.

Impressed by the bravery displayed, DGP Gaurav Yadav has announced that SSP Aditya will be honoured with the DG’s Disc Award.
