New Delhi: A massive terror conspiracy has come to light during the investigation into the Red Fort blast in Delhi, revealing plans for a series of coordinated car bomb explosions across the country.

According to police sources, terror operatives were preparing 32 vehicles loaded with explosives to target multiple cities in what they called a “revenge mission” for the Babri Masjid demolition. The attacks were planned to coincide with December 6, the demolition’s anniversary, aiming to trigger panic and widespread destruction.

The Hyundai i20 car that exploded near Red Fort Metro Station on November 10 was reportedly part of this larger network of planned serial blasts. Investigating agencies have so far recovered four vehicles believed to be part of the plot — a Maruti Brezza, Swift Dzire, Ford EcoSport, and another i20.

Preliminary findings suggest the accused had been purchasing old vehicles and modifying them to conceal explosives, ensuring the cars would blend in and evade suspicion. The discovery points to a sophisticated and well-funded terror module with a nationwide reach.

The Red Fort blast has so far claimed 13 lives, with one more victim succumbing to injuries on Thursday morning. At least 20 people were injured, three of whom remain in critical condition.

Investigating teams from Delhi Police’s Special Cell, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and Intelligence Bureau (IB) are jointly probing the case. Officials are also examining possible international terror links, including the supply chain of explosives and funding routes.

A senior official involved in the investigation described the revelation as “one of the most serious terror plots uncovered in recent years,” adding that timely intervention may have prevented a national tragedy.

As the probe expands, authorities are tightening surveillance in several northern and western states to trace any remaining vehicles or suspects connected to the conspiracy.
